Muggsy Bogues Endorses Mark Cuban-Backed Clothing Startup

Muggsy Bogues was the first (and is still the only) player of his height (5'3") to compete in the NBA. Now, the Charlotte Hornets' all-time leader in minutes, assists and steals is the first noteworthy name to publicly support a new clothing brand backed by Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

As Sports Illustrated's Jake Fischer wrote, Muggsy is the first celebrity endorser for Ash & Erie, a clothing company that specializes in dressing men under 5'8". The former Space Jam star first caught wind of the brand on ABC's Shark Tank, where Mark acquired a 25 percent stake in the company for $150,000. A phone call to David Falk, Muggsy's agent, led to a meeting with Steven Mazur and Eric Huang, the co-founders of Ash & Erie, which begat this fitting partnership.

“I’ve been talking about a brand like this for some time,” Muggsy told SI. “I saw the Big and Tall stores all the time. I always wondered why we didn’t have a Short and Small. Everybody was excluding us.”

Thanks to Ash & Erie, Muggsy now has a clothing line he can lean on—and a strong connect to get whatever he needs to complete his outfits.
